Here’s a simple yet very nice SEO trick from Tien Nguyen that involves doing a little tweaking on your blog’s header section. By default, your blog has a <title> tag that looks like this:
By adding a few more lines of codes together with the above, you can practically and instantly boost your Blogger blog’s SEO capability. Just follow the simple steps below:
- Go to the ‘Design’ section of your Blogger dashboard and head over to ‘Template’.
- Click on the ‘Edit HTML’ button and then hit ‘Proceed’.
- Put a check mark on the ‘Expand Widget Templates’ box.
- Then look for the above code by pressing ‘Ctrl+F’.
- Replace it with the following code below:
<b:if cond='data:blog.pageType != "index"'>
<data:blog.pageName/> | <data:blog.title/>
<meta content='ten keywords, separated by comma' name='keywords'/>
<meta expr:content='data:blog.metaDescription' name='description'/>
<meta content='index, follow' name='robots'/>
Replace the green text with ten (10) keywords that you usually use in your blog or use to describe your blog and separate them by using a comma (,).
In addition, make sure that you provide a ‘Description’ for your blog (from your dashboard: Settings > Search references > Meta tags > Description). That’s where the attribute value of ‘data:blog.metaDescription’ is going to get its information from.
Have a great day, everyone!
